The Benefits of Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is a plant with hundreds of different species and is actually considered an invasive plant across the globe. It’s a shame really, as aloe has a number of benefits to the human body that can work from the inside and outside. What are these benefits you ask? The list goes on and on, read on to see a few of the benefits of aloe vera. Before we dive into the benefits of aloe vera, Laser it would like to highlight that aloe vera species are not all the same. Please research and confirm the type you are using is safe for use.
Aloe Vera Soothes sunburn
With hundreds upon hundreds of aftersun lotions on the market, it can be hard to know which is the best one. Which aftersun lotion contains good quality ingredients or nasty hidden chemicals? As consumers, we cannot always be sure and it can be tricky to know which products to trust. Aloe vera is nature’s aftersun care. With soothing properties hidden beneath the hard aloe leaf, just break in half and slather your skin with pure aloe vera. Your skin will feel soothed and refreshed in no time. Bonus tip: keep in the fridge for an extra cool soothing effect.
Aloe is Tasty and Healthy
Aloe has numerous health benefits. These range from antioxidants to anti-inflammatory properties and more! Since aloe has a rather subtle taste, it can easily be incorporated into various dishes. Cutting up chunks of aloe and adding it to water or juice makes a natural bubble tea like drink. Mixing it into yoghurts gives you a breakfast with a twist. If you’re not keen on the texture, whizz up some aloe into your smoothie. There are plenty of ways to reap the benefits of aloe in your diet.
Which Aloe Gels to Use?
At Laser it, we recommend using aloe vera gels with the highest concentration of aloe vera in them. If you cannot get hold of an aloe gel you like the look of, you can also grow your own aloe vera! If you do decide to grow your own aloe plant, please check which are the edible ones before you start chomping as not all aloe vera is the same. Please do let us know on our Facebook or Instagram if you have given aloe vera a go and/or you’ve grown your own.
Because of the numerous benefits of aloe, we often advise our clients to use it after laser hair removal treatment. Due to its natural properties, it is considered a generally safe option to keep the skin protected and help in the healing process post-laser hair removal treatment. However, we do advise all of our clients to be aware of their own allergies and how their skin reacts to aloe. If irritation ever occurs, seek medical advice and discontinue use.
