PRP and Pain Relief

PRP and Pain Relief

Living with pain seriously impacts quality of life, and not all of us want to take medication or undergo surgery for trying to subside the pain. Modern day advancements have meant that pain management is more than it ever was before, and one of these methods is through PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).

What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. The person undergoing PRP for pain relief has blood drawn at the clinic and the blood is put into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins quickly to separate the blood into its different components.

How can PRP help with pain relief?

Platelet-Rich Plasma has amazing potential to stimulate the body’s own repairing and resoration abilities, and because the blood is taken directly from the candidate, we know that the PRP solution is a perfect match. More information on how the treatment helps in repairing the body can be found here.

A lot of chronic pain is due to injury, surgery, and damage, and PRP and pain relief go hand in hand. If you’re suffering from a sports injury and have constant pain, the platelet rich solution can be injected directly into the site. The body will then use this platelet rich solution to work at repairing the damage from injury.

Since the solution is injected into the body, a large number of areas can be treated to work at aiding your body to repair itself, thus bringing the pain down and creating a healthier and stronger body.

If you think you would benefit from PRP for pain relief, please contact us with the experiences you’ve had or are having, and we can have a discussion about if the treatment can help reduce your pain.

Are there any side effects to having the treatment?

There are some side effects that are completely normal. These include swelling and discomfort for a few days. We give thorough pre and post care at Laser it, and are always willing to answer any questions you may have either by asking at your appointment, or contacting us via our site.

If you get a fever, pus oozes from the site, pain that won’t go away after taking Paracetamol, or the area is warm or hot to touch, please contact us immediately.

How many treatments are needed for PRP and pain management?

The number of sessions needed will be discussed based on every client. We believe in customising every client journey to ensure the best results as possible. Please note: the results depend on the blood drawn and may vary from client to client.
