Does laser hair removal hurt?
Does laser hair removal hurt? This is a question we have received from so many of our clients and we are here to answer it!
In short NO laser hair removal at Laser it generally doesn’t hurt!
Why is this? Thankfully, our clinics use a medical grade laser hair removal machine, and all of our laser technicians are fully trained. This minimises the pain during treatments.
What’s so special about the laser hair removal machine we use at Laser it?
Our machine is amongst the most advanced out there. The machines we use include freeze technology. Freeze technology cools the skin down as the laser hair removal machine heats up.
As well as freeze technology, our machine has been designed with all skin types in mind. This means that if you’re skin type 1 or 6 (or anything in between), we can offer our laser hair removal packages to you!
Does that mean there’s no pain at all during treatment?
Every client is different, and it also depends on the area you’re having treated. Most clients get through treatment without any pain, but the ones who do feel something usually only feel some mild discomfort. In these cases, our laser hair technicians will take their time throughout the treatment and make sure you’re ok. The client’s experience means a lot to us, so ensuring each client is comfortable is a priority.
Follow up care
We always provide pre and post care to clients getting laser hair removal, as well as assessments throughout the course. As long as these are followed, discomfort will be kept to a minimum.
Medicines and current treatments
It’s extremely important to tell your laser hair removal therapist what kind of treatment or medicine you’re currently taking. Some medicines can make the skin extremely sensitive. The consultation forms are kept private and they really are crucial to ensure your laser hair removal journey is a smooth as possible (as your hair free skin will be!).
Essential oils and fake tan
If you use essential oils and/or fake tan on the skin, please make your laser hair removal therapist aware. If you have used either of the two close to your appointment, your skin could get damaged. This could cause pain and burning. Always tell your therapist about the use of essential oils and fake tanning creams to keep your skin protected.
Generally, laser hair removal at Laser it is virtually pain free. Always follow the advice of your laser hair removal therapist and if in any doubt, feel free to contact us!
