Read on to have your questions answered and feel free to leave a comment with any questions you still have!
Is it safe for all skin types to have laser hair reduction?
Yes! The days of the treatment only be safe for lighter skin types are long gone. With the technology of today, the treatments can be done on all skin types, even darker tones. It’s important to ensure that your therapist carries out a skin patch and consultation before starting any treatment, no matter what skin type you are.
How much does it cost?
Each area of the body is different, so prices can change. At Laser it, we urge you to follow our Instagram page to keep updated on our latest seasonal offers.
How long does it take?
Like the price, how long the treatment takes depends on the area of your body you want done. Similarly, you may need extra sessions depending on your hair growth.
Does laser hair removal treatment hurt?
Each client has a different pain threshold and it depends on which machine the clinic is using. At Laser it, our machine is medical grade with freeze technology. This keeps the skin cool as the laser works, so our treatments are as pain free as can be. To keep your skin as pain free during each procedure, it is crucial to ensure that the area is shaved at least two hours before treatment, preferably the day before. It is also important to ensure there are no traces of fake tan and than you do not have an active tan or burnt skin from sun exposure.
Can I remove hair between treatments?
You can remove hair between treatments, but is is important that the hair removal method used is only shaving. Waxing, tweezing and plucking will alter the laser hair removal results. The hair follicle needs to be left in the skin for the laser to be attracted to it. That is why shaving is the only hair removal we recommend until you can ditch your razor after your sessions are completed.
Can’t I just use an at home IPL?
We know that using an at home IPL may be tempting, but in the long run, clinical lasers are immensely better for getting the job done properly.
How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by attacking the hair follicle. The laser is drawn to the pigment in the follicle and destroys it.
How long does it last?
The results can vary depending on the person. Some clients see results for years, while others may see shorter term results. Results are better when the sessions are carried out in the correct timeframe and after every package has been completed.
What happens during a patch test and consultation?
Your laser hair removal therapist will assess your hair and skin type and will carry out a few laser zaps to your skin. This is to ensure that the correct settings are used and to prevent any reactions. Your therapist will also ask about any medications you have – this is to ensure that no contraindications can happen.
